loaf of French Bread Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in small pan. Stir in mustard and poppy seeds and allow to cool so it becomes slightly thick. Cut cheese into 1/4 inch slices. Cut bread into one 3/4 inch slices (don't cut quite all the way through the loaf).l Spoon the mustard mixture between each cut. Place a slice of cheese in each cut. Lay a half of strip of bacon over each slice of bread. Double wrap the loaf in aluminum foil. Bake for 50-60 minutes then open the top of the foil and turn the broiler on to brown the bacon, watch carefully so that the bacon does not burn, this does not take long, maybe 5 minutes. Serve.
